Wow, people are that cheap? WTF! This is why jr. high math is important. Surely the service couldn't have been that bad...

I wouldn't have tipped the bitch.. If she don't like it get another job...

I've been there...

Fucked up how people feel they're entitled to a 20% tip for simply doing their job. Go above and beyond, hook me up with some free dessert and then I will.

20% should be the average. SHOULD.

At the minimum one should not tip any lower than 10% unless they have a complaint that is also brought up to management. Thinking that the person that serves you should steal from their job to deserve an AVERAGE tip is what's truly fucked up.

Interesting how the person claiming she shouldn't feel entitled to a 20% tip but then turns around and feels entitled to a free dessert. Great logic there.

That's why you don't work at Chili's if you expect to make a reasonable wage. The people go eat there because it is good and cheap for what you get. It's like going to Wal Mart and expecting designer brands.

Never list/link your employer on your fb account. *facepalm*

a $5 tip on $138 equals out to somewhere around 3.6%. I don't know what she had to tip out (bartenders, hostess, bus boys), but she probably lost money on it. Shitty tippers are generally just shitty people.

A tip is a gratuity, not an entitlement. This is part of what is wrong with our country today. People feel they are entitled and owed. You aren't owed shit.

"A tip is a gratuity, not an entitlement." WRONG. Tips may have begun as gratuities, so 25 or 30 years ago, you may have had a point. When the IRS came after tips as taxable income, the Restaurant Association decided that "taxable" meant that it counted as "wages." The restaurants now pay roughly $2.00/hr, but the server's tax liability is figured at the full minimum wage. When you fail to tip, you are literally STEALING MONEY from the person who brought you your food. Don't like it? Take it up with the Restaurant Association - it was *their* bright idea.

^this guy right here has got it figured out. If none of our ancestors had ever tipped those entitled shits in the first place then businesses would not have started paying them below minimum wage and their livelihoods then would not be left up to our generosity!!

Too bad there exist decent, generous human beings that will continue to fuck up our stingy dream.

Considering that 95% of all servers are paid $2-$4 an HOUR, they are basically working for tips. If you can't afford to tip your server at least 15%, you should not go out to eat at a real restaurant. Stick to BK you cheap, ungrateful bastards. Remember who takes care of your food next time.

Being a server, I would flip the fuck out if some stingy cunt left me a shitty ass tip like that. You tip bartenders and bathroom attendents for doing their jobs so why not a waitress? We make 5$ an hour, we live off of our tips. If we take care of your needs, serve your food, and not to mention a lot of us make some of the food you eat, plus roll your silverware and make sure your food is coming from a clean environment, why are we not entitled to a good tip? Your bitch ass had 140 to spend on food and you couldn't cough up a decent tip? It had to be at least a party of ten.. 2$ per person is 20$. Stick to your shitty fast food if you don't want to tip.

I understand in other states where people make below minimum wage but being in a state with one of the the highest minimum wage rates, all servers here are paid the minimum wage at LEAST which is $9.19 and hour. This is called ''gratuity'' for a reason. You are paid to do your job here in Washington, we give you a ''gratuity'' for doing a good job. I would personally not tip below 15% (25% for GREAT service) but when people here go home with a minimum of 200 bucks a day PLUS the minimum wage of over $9 dollars an hour, passive aggressive lazy overly entitled wait staff seem to be quite common here. So I understand a lot of the hostilities coming from people. There are those just plain cheap bastards that refuse to tip no matter what but sometimes people have legitimate gripes for poor service.

If they only tipped $5 its probably cause she didnt do her job! If i go somewhere to eat and I have servers. I expect them to be polite, ask if anything else is needed and to have my plates removed and drinks refilled. and not just once and expect me to pay them they're 10% . Ive had servers who take our orders with an attitude and those who practically wipe the crumbs off of our faces. Give me 100% and Ill give you what you deserve.

smart money says it was a black guy that didn't tip her, or the service was terrible

I always tip at least 16% (double that tax here)just because its the right thing to do. Period. When I was in a position to get tipped, I shined and was rewarded accordingly. I've never forgotten what it was like to be on the other end of that equation.

tipping is for good service, not because its compulsory! dumb bitch. she sounds like she would be a shit waitress anyway.. she does get paid as well, its not like tip is her only from of income. whore

5 bucks, thats a shitty tip, its alot more than i would have left for shitty service. the last three or four times i have been out to eat anywhere i have sat there with empty drink glasses, or some other lack of decent service through most of my meal. expecting a tip is crazy, just take your lazy ass back to welfare with that mentality. Do your job and do it well, and be thankful you have a job in the first place!

i think they should have a living wage like europe and its added to food price. everybody wins
