And maybe a reminder as to why we don't need to post EVERYTHING we do to Facebook the minute we do it.
Social media helped police nab a man who allegedly stole a $3,000 engagement ring for his girlfriend.
Ryan Jarvis, 25, of Burlington, pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
Police say he stole a white gold solitaire ring from the Zales store in the Burlington Town Center Mall.
He proposed and his bride-to-be-- who was present in the courtroom Wednesday-- said "yes." She posted the good news on Facebook and included a picture of the ring. Burlington police say that prompted a few of her Facebook friends to call police when they realized it matched the stolen ring they'd seen on the news.
"He was in there for approximately an hour and there was some inkling from the employees that it was kind of a legitimate interest that he had in getting this diamond ring. So there was some thought that quite frankly that it would pop up on Facebook," Burlington Deputy Police Chief Andi Higbee said.
Jarvis' girlfriend was wearing the stolen ring when police came to the house to question the couple. Police don't believe she knew her ring was stolen and don't plan to file criminal charges against her.

A blog that's not only one of a kind, but one of a kind and fucking funny. You may not laugh at everything, but I know for goddamn certain you'll laugh at something. People love watching train wrecks—and I’m happy to oblige. Because sharing these stories has taught me not to take life so seriously. And through my experiences with the blog I’ve found that honestly sharing my most humiliating stories not only makes people laugh, but helps them with their own problems.

Idiot of the Day - Where's the Beef?
RIVIERA BEACH — An alleged food-snatcher and scooter thief was arrested on Sunday after he was seen by a Riviera Beach supermarket's employees driving the pilfered motorized shopping cart with unpaid packages of meat off the property.According to a Riviera Beach Police report, Winn-Dixie Supermarket manager Betty O'Connor told a police officer that she was alerted by an employee about a man driving off with a "cart full of groceries."
As O'Connor and a security guard headed out of the store, at 3701 Broadway Ave., another woman told her that the alleged thief, later identified as Louis Lorensen, ran over her 4-year-old son.
The woman said that Lorensen, 58, had yelled at her son to "move out of my way," according to the report.
When the boy didn't move fast enough, he was hit in the leg and his foot was run over, the report states. The woman said she and her son were standing in the inside of the entrance/exit doors.
Eventually, O'Connor and the guard were able to detain Lorensen, a Riviera Beach resident, at a gas station.
The responding officer counted 11 packs of meat with Winn-Dixie packaging in the cart Lorensen had taken off with, the report said.
But when Lorensen was told he was being arrested, he yelled at the officer, "I ain't no punk, and I ain't going down without a fight," according to the report.
That's when Lorensen allegedly tried hitting the arresting officer, swinging his right arm. The officer managed to handcuff Lorensen and arrest him.
At the police station, Lorensen told the police officer, "when you take these cuffs off, I'm going to punch you in the face," according to the report.
He was charged with two counts of larceny, aggravated battery on a child, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail in lieu of $56,000 bond.

I said more fudge!!!
A Canadian woman pleaded guilty to biting a police officer when she resisted arrest after causing a disturbance at a McDonald’s over the amount of hot fudge on her sundae!
According to reports, 33-year-old Elaine Emter was sentenced to 18 months of probation and 40 hours of community service on Thursday, after admitting to the violent incident at an Alberta McDonald’s over a food order.
She reportedly became enraged after her drive-thru ice cream sundae order didn’t have enough hot fudge. But when she confronted McDonald’s employees, they refused to exchange it without a receipt.
When officers arrived, she was”in their faces” shouting at them, and was told she would be taken into custody of disturbance charges. That’s when she resisted arrest and officers had to put her in a choke hold, prompting her to bite one of they.
Police were eventually able to subdue her after using a stun gun twice.
My thoughts: Don't mess with a bitch and her ice cream! Just sayin'.
